As a backer, I am happy that they have produced the games and have come to an agreement to deliver them to backers. Communication was terrible but they never asked us for more money. Perhaps they should have done so. Hopefully they will all get delivered.

This both makes me feel less bad and terrifies me about LSG and their handling of StormSunder and Wild Assent... If you aren't following, they are at the point where monthly updates are still coming about gameplay mechanics but they no longer have a schedule for the projects and stopped commenting in forums and discord the end of last year... I'm basically just waiting for the updates to stop coming.

I so nearly backed this and then nearly late pledged it. Glad I didn't seeing how this has all transpired. I managed to get a copy of the token edition on deep discount from my local game store and its a good solid, fun game, so I hope if it ever delivers you all enjoy it. Although having been on the end of a few mismanaged kickstarters I know first hand the desire to play the game can wane when you have been messed about for so long. Just hope it gets resolved soon.

I must have been lucky so far. I have not run into a mismanaged project.

Unfortunately, you saw the one campaign FunForge executed well on. Tokaido Collector's was well over a year late, with a whole bunch of issues. Sucks, but there are so many backers and actual retail channels that seems to be selling FunForge games that this'll eventually get to you. The company looks like it'll remain solvent.

You are a taking a risk when you gamble foolishly on KickStarter. That's on you. You need to understand how KS works. You can lose your money, every time, with no recourse (outside of bitching about it, like you are doing here).

I had not even had a chance to play the first game when they announced the expansion. Was almost glad they initially didn't want to make a token version because then I decided to opt out. Unfortunately FOMO won out when they announced they indeed would make a token version. Annoyingly enough, this is the version being sold, so if I felt like sponsoring this company I might have bought one. New update article today though on boardgamewire.

It's available on digital version, maybe that can make it a little easier, but it's clear that has a lot of rules. Great video, the board version looks great.

Formula D/De (for its simplicity) and Steampunk Rally (with plenty of choices) would both make it onto my list.

No wonder the game is balanced poorly

This video was amazing. I love this game so far, but was disappointed that the rule book didn’t really give you a “how to play” section. Sure it has lots of info, terms and definitions, and such, but it doesn’t exactly walk you through setup very well, nor a turn. Six minutes into this video and we had a grasp to get us through several missions without needing too many trips to the book. Thanks for your hard work in creating this video.

I'm going to back it! It's a fun game that I've played a few times now. Love the theme and think it's quite immersive. Plus the artwork is beautiful. Cannot stress enough how easy it is to teach, and how intuitive play is for new people. If you've climbed, you need to rest. Then, you prepare, and around the circle you go. But there are interesting strats - tagging definitely one, which allow you to do your own thing and have a different game every time! Great review

Just bought this at the UKGE. A very simple game to play but heavy on theme. So will keep this in my brain 'warm down' pile for after a heavy session in something more complicated.

Tip for parking: Birmingham International railway station's multi-storey carpark can be prebooked for £12.50 per day (guarantees a space too), and is a lot closer walk to the NEC (via the footbridge) than the NEC's own carparks.

Since you liked Robot Quest Arena but were turned off by the price you should check out Ascension Tactics and the upcoming Ascension Tactics Inferno. It's a deckbuilder with an area control and combat theme but you get to control a squad of 3-4 characters instead of just one. It's also way, way cheaper in part because it uses standees; usually available for 60$ CAD and I got my copy brand new for 40$ CAD. It also has solo and co-op modes so it's not strictly competitive like Robot Quest Arena.

Does the x-men resistance box contain both zombie and hero modes, or does it only have hero mode? I would like to get both modes for the cheapest possible price, but I can’t find a good description of what’s in each box.

At around 12 minutes info the video you mentioned that after boss combats players you reveal 1 boss Relic per player or 3 if solo, you're actually supposed reveal 1 per player +1 additional Relic. So in a 3 player game you reveal 4 boss relics.

Played Red and Wolf in Story book woods. Won in merely 5 turns. The chicken bone and Thorny vine combo is so broken with the wolf track mode. All you need to do is to walk/sprint. Leave the bone and thorn. End your turn, Wolf takes 3 damage for both tokens. Rinse and repeat. Do weak attack then dead. WTH this is my first game with red and wolf.
